I was gone for a long time. I hope you're all still doing well.
A lot has changed for me since I've been gone. As much as I love this blog, it's just not the same for me as it was. It was a great time in my life, and I am glad it's still here to remind me of that.
I'm in a much different space now though, and a new blog is needed for the new me. I hope that you all decide to stop by at some point.
My first post can be found here.
Best of luck to everyone in the future.

New red shoes! I have a bit of an obsession with red shoes. These are a little more subtle than most of mine though, so I'm hoping I can get away with them at work. I'm off to find out!

So
This just brightened my day
25 cute cats in boxes
Things have been really rather boring around here lately. I am still trying to adjust to this schedule (Which is to say a schedule with constantly changing variables) but today I was awake and out of bed before 10 and that felt pretty good. I got my hold removed from my school account (They're still fighting me on that one semester, even though I now have a GPA of 4.0 (If you don't count that one semester)) and I finally got to writing a letter to the dean asking that the semester in question be removed. I mean, it was six years ago, and considering the fact that for the last three semesters I haven't gotten anything lower than an A-, It's time to let the damn thing go.
I also got together all of my supplies for my latest crafting project! I've been on Craftster for a few months now, and I heard rumor of a swap in the forums, for Tank Girl!! So exciting! Tank Girl is a movie that I fell in love with probably...jeeze, 10, 15 years ago? When I heard that the swap was happening for all things TG related, I just couldn't help myself.
I'm not going to say anything yet, because I linked to my blog on my profile and I don't want to give away any surprises for my partner, but I'm pretty stoked on what I'm putting together. I'm going to take pictures all the way through, and I'll show you guys the process and finished products when it's done!!
Yay!
Now I'm off to actually start sewing, not just talking about it.

Oh Hai Interwebs!
I'm suffering from lack-of-computer-time-itis i think, I just spent about 4 hours staring at the interwebs, reading a ton of blogs, looking at hair color reviews, shopping for mood rings and goggles, and checking my schedule for classes that start wednesday.
It's strange. it doesn't feel like weeks since I've been on, but it has been. Sorry I haven't been around! I'm trying to adjust to this new schedule. I'm still waking up at 7 because that's when I got up for my day job, but then i fall back asleep until 10 or sometimes 11. it's kinda bumming me out. I'm looking forward to school starting again. I'll still have the bizzarro bar/food service schedule, but it will put some order in to my life. hopefully then I can start doing productive things again and not laying around and watching 8 episodes of Futurama in a day and eating pizza.
The new job has been going really well. I'm making pretty decent money (More than I was at the desk job it seems) and its flexible. I hate that sometimes I wont see Adam for a day or two, but we're making a point to do date nights when I don't work, and that makes up for it.
We're also planning for a vacation in October. We're going out to Portland with friends of ours! I'm so excited! I've never been to the west coast, but I love everything that I see and read online. Plus, we've been talking about moving out of Maryland for a long time. I don't want to jinx it, but I think this vacation might be a bit of a scouting tour! I'm really tired of the HORRIBLE traffic and crime and violence and drugs. The job market is terrible, no one wants to pay, yet our housing market is INSANELY inflated. We paid over a hundred and sixty thousand dollars for our house. It's a semi-detached. We spent almost two hundred thousand on a trumped up townhouse. And that's nothing out of the ordinary here.
I'm looking forward to living somewhere that's green, not concrete. That doesn't have rampant murders and drug use, mostly by children under 20. I'm looking forward to going somewhere that doesn't make me shudder at the thought of having children.
I love my city, but twenty six years here has made me harder and angrier than I ever want to be. I want to live somewhere soft now.
wow. so there's my little impromptu rant!
Anywho, I have a bunch of pictures from the new camera, but I can't find my card reader. Grr!! As soon as I find it, I'll have stuff posted!

WHY!?!
I just got an email from Anthropologie
It had one thing in it, a picture of these boots.
In a frenzy of excitement I opened the link, only to find that they were $300.
WHYYYYYY?!?!?! I'm going to go cry a little now.

This weekend...
This weekend was a lot of fun. Spent the day Saturday baking cookies and hanging out with my mo and sister. Then went south for a bit for a cookout with good friends. It was a really long day but tons of fun!
I made two different kinds of cookies. One kind was the Root Beer cookie that the Dainty Squid wrote about. They were delicious! And really really easy. I think next time I'll need to add food coloring though, to get them a little darker.
I also used a recipe that Adam found online Banana Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies. I wasn't too into them at first, but WOW. I totally underestimated these guys. They're AWESOME! I can't wait to have them for breakfast this week :)
Today I worked about nine hours. The morning was really slow, but it picked up a lot at night, so hopefully tips will be good! (We do a tip pool because all of the servers help each other out, so they won't know what everyone gets till the end of the night).
Now I'm just waiting to go to sleep for what is my last full week of my day job. It's a bitter sweet thing. I'm really happy to get out of there, but I'm really going to miss a lot of the people that I work with (And some of them not at all.) But, I have pretty good contact with a lot of them outside of work, so I just have to make sure to keep that up!
Next weekend I have Saturday off, we're going to see Scott Pilgrim!! So stoked! Then I'm going to spend the rest of the day working on my new project. I found this guy on the side of the road by a dumpster. I don't know who was throwing it away, but I can't wait to clean it up and give it a new paint job.
The wood is really beautiful, and I'm actually sad to paint it, but it's got a lot of superficial damage that's going to have to be filled in with wood putty. I plan on painting it black and doing the insides of the drawers bright colors like greens and purples. And maybe getting some nice handles for it. I'm super excited!
Hope that you all have been doing well.

SSDD
Training is going pretty well. Unfortunately, I don't have a computer at all at work anymore. I mean, I am leaving, so it's not like I need one, but I get bored! And I can't blog every day like I was loving doing. But that's ok. Just under two weeks left, and then I'll have all day to blog my little heart out.
For now, lets do a little anthropologie lusting.
I can't tell you the last time that I actually bought something retail price. I always try to find it either on sale, or just skip everything completely and go right to the clearance racks. It's gotten to the point that even my wish lists are clearance. Is that sad?
I'm going with no. I think thrifty is sexy. ;)
So here are my top picks for dresses and skirts that are currently on clearance at anthropologie!
I love the cut of this dress. I love octopuses too. You put the two together, viola, instant pretty.
The colors of this dress are so nice. It would be a great addition to any wardrobe because with simple accessory and shoe changes it could go from the beach to work to a night out.
I'm not usually an orange person. But the color combination on this dress is so pretty. Coupled with that silhouette, this is a great summer dress.
I think that a good, dark neutral skirt should be a part of every wardrobe. You could pile on tons of bangles, necklaces and beads, a slightly baggy tank top, and a pair of wedges and do total gypsy/boho chic, or you could pair it with a fitted button down, cropped cardigan and kitten heels and wear it to the office. There are few things this skirt couldn't do.
Flight 'Round The Garden skirt
I love the shades of green in this skirt. The monochrome is truly beautiful too. It's a very bold skirt done in a very subtle way. Love.
Ok. It's only 10:30 but I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is Friday! I sure am excited. I have a girls lunch planned too!
Hope your Friday is awesome
